Got the 737-900, it's pretty good

Finally grabbed the PMDG 737-900 for MSFS. It's a nice plane, flies really well. I downloaded it and got it installed without much fuss. Played around with it for a few hours. The systems are detailed, feels realistic. Overall, a good experience, no real complaints. I'd probably get another one of their planes down the road.

Another solid purchase

I've picked up a few products from PMDG over the years, and the 737-800 for MSFS was just as smooth as my previous orders. Installation was simple, and it works exactly as expected. Good to see they're still consistent with their quality and support. No surprises, which is what I like.

Simply the best sim aircraft

I absolutely love PMDG products! I just bought the 747-400 Queen of the Skies II and it's incredible. The detail, the systems, everything. I've been flying it all weekend. I already know I'm going to get the 747-8 Expansion next. I tell all my simming buddies to check them out. You won't be disappointed!

Great value, caught a sale

I'd been watching the PMDG 737-700 for a while, waiting for a good deal. When they had that holiday discount, I finally pulled the trigger. The $10 off wasn't huge, but it made me feel like I got a good deal. Installation was straightforward after I figured out the Operations Center. For what you get, especially on sale, it was definitely worth the money. No regrets.

Good aircraft, small issues

I bought the PMDG 777-300ER for P3D a few weeks ago. The ordering process was fine, and the download was pretty quick. Installation was mostly smooth, though I had a minor hiccup with the Livery Manager initially that took a bit to sort out. The aircraft itself is fantastic, very deep systems and flies well. Support eventually helped with my small issue, so that was good. Overall, a solid product, just a few small things I noticed during setup. Took about 3 days for them to reply to my ticket.

Is the PMDG 737 for MSFS worth it if I already have the NGX for P3D? Wondering if the visual upgrade and MSFS features justify the price.

C coolboy88 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
For me, yes. The visuals are a huge step up, and the integration with MSFS weather and scenery is fantastic. It just feels more alive. Plus, the systems are even more refined.

R Rahul 1 week ago
That's what I'm hoping for. NGX is great but P3D is showing its age.

N NikhilS 1 week ago
I got the MSFS version and haven't touched the P3D one since. The immersion is just different.
6
D Deepu 1 week ago
I'm still on the fence. I've heard some people say the difference isn't *that* big if you're mostly focused on the systems rather than the eye candy.

I'm a systems guy, but visuals matter too.

Just bought the PMDG 777 for P3D v5. What's the best way to get liveries?

V VirtualAirlineCaptain 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Use the PMDG Operations Center. It's built right in and super easy. Just download and install directly from there.

D DesiPilotDreams 1 week ago
Oh, so I don't need to hunt on forums?

S SimmerGirl 1 week ago
Nope, Ops Center handles most of the official and many community ones.
7
F FlightGuru 1 week ago
Operations Center is definitely the way to go. It keeps them all organized too.
8
D DesiPilotDreams 1 week ago
Nice, that sounds convenient.
3
A AviationGeek 1 week ago
Yeah, it's pretty slick.
7
P PlaneSpotterPal 1 week ago
Sometimes for more obscure liveries, you might find them on Avsim or other flight sim sites, but always check the Ops Center first.

Just got the PMDG 737-800 for MSFS. Pretty happy with it so far, but wondering if anyone has found good resources for learning the FMS in depth besides the manuals?

A AmitM 1 month ago
I mostly just followed the included tutorials. They are actually pretty well done for the basics.

R Rahul87 1 month ago
Yeah, I did those too. Looking for more advanced stuff now.

Definitely check out YouTube, there are tons of tutorials. BlackBox711 has some great ones for PMDG products.

R Rahul87 1 month ago
Oh yeah, I've seen some of his stuff. Will dive deeper.

Agree, BlackBox is solid. Also, TheFlyingFabio sometimes covers PMDG details.

Had an issue with my PMDG 747-400 update last night, and support got back to me within a few hours. Pleasantly surprised by the quick response time this time around.

G gamerraj 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, I've noticed their support has gotten quicker for general queries lately. For complex stuff, it can still be a wait.

A Amit 1 week ago
That's what I figured.

Oh, that's good to hear! My last ticket took almost a week. Maybe they've improved things.

S Sneha22 1 week ago
I've had mixed experiences. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. Depends on the issue complexity I guess.

Could be. Or maybe it was a simpler issue.

Thinking about getting the PMDG 777-300ER. Does PMDG ever have sales on these bigger aircraft, or should I just bite the bullet now?

C coolboy88 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I'd say if you really want it, just get it. PMDG stuff holds its value and the flying experience is top-notch.

S Sneha22 1 month ago
True, it's a big investment.

G gamerraj 1 month ago
They do sometimes have sales, especially around major holidays like Black Friday or Christmas. But the 777 is a newer release, so discounts might be less frequent.
9
R RahulK 1 month ago
They also sometimes do upgrade discounts if you own a previous PMDG product, might be worth checking the Operations Center.

S Sneha22 1 month ago
Hmm, good point. Black Friday is still a while away.

My PMDG 737-700 livery manager isn't showing any new liveries. Anyone else having issues with it connecting, or is it just me?

A AmitM 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Are you checking for official PMDG liveries or third-party ones? Third-party usually need manual install or through sites like flightsim.to.
19
N NikhilS 2 weeks ago
Official ones. The list is just empty.

M maxwell 2 weeks ago
Mine was acting up last week. Try restarting your PC and the Operations Center, sometimes that fixes it.
3
N NikhilS 2 weeks ago
Did that, no luck. Wonder if it's a server issue.
0
D Deepak91 2 weeks ago
I had to reinstall the Operations Center once when it wouldn't fetch anything.

I'm thinking about getting the PMDG 737-800. How does it compare to the Fenix A320? Are they both super detailed?

S Shane 2 months ago
They're both top-tier in terms of systems depth. The PMDG 737 feels a bit more mature, less early-access vibes. Fenix is amazing too, but PMDG has been doing this longer. If you like Boeing, you won't be disappointed.
5
J June 2 months ago
Fenix is awesome, especially if you're into Airbus logic. PMDG is the king of Boeing sims, though. Both are super realistic, just different philosophies. PMDG's support is generally solid too.

Thinking of finally grabbing the PMDG 737 for MSFS, but the price tag is kinda steep. Any sales ever happen?

F FlightSimFanatic 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
They do occasionally, especially around Black Friday or sometimes for holiday sales. Not super often though. I got my 737-800 on a small upgrade discount from my P3D version.
15
S SimPilotSam 3 weeks ago
Yeah, if you owned the P3D one, they sometimes offer a loyalty credit or discount for the MSFS version.
8
A AviatorAditya 3 weeks ago
Oh, an upgrade discount? How does that work?
8
P PilotPete 3 weeks ago
Honestly, their sales are pretty rare. Best bet is to keep an eye on their newsletter or just bite the bullet. It's worth it IMO.
1
A AviationAce 3 weeks ago
They sometimes do, but it's not guaranteed every year for every product.
8
A AviatorAditya 3 weeks ago
Yeah, was hoping for a Black Friday mention.
4
J JetJockeyJake 3 weeks ago
I heard sometimes they do bundle discounts if you buy more than one variant at once, but not sure if that's still a thing.

A AviatorAditya 3 weeks ago
Good to know, thanks!
